GeekBrief playing on iPhone

GeekBrief playing on iPhone

This is a question I came across when I examined the keywords section of the statistics/tracking tool I use for this blog.

Someone must be reading my mind because watching a VideoCast (or “video podcast” ) on a cell phone is actually something I have been thinking quite a bit about over the last few weeks.

And the answer is a definite “yes” although it’s not necessarily as straight forward a process as we all would like.

Wordpress iPhone App from Automattic

Wordpress iPhone App from Automattic

Frankly I am not the best typist when it comes to the iPhone’s keypad, which is why I wrote most of this particular post from a standard keyboard but I did at least “start” the post on my new iPhone 3G.

I was able to do this because of a new iPhone “App” I downloaded today called simply Wordpress from Automattic Inc. (You may know that my Blog’s publishing system is Wordpress) This free app may yet open up a whole new world of “mobile blogging” for this particular blogger.

Even though I do have a Twitter account I use it mostly to follow the exploits and thoughts of people I’ve subscribed to, I don’t do much Twitter posting myself. But Wordpress blogging from my iPhone has greater appeal to me. The only downside is having to use the iPhone’s darn virtual keyboard which reduces me to the slowest of “hunt and peckers.”

There’s a stylus available that is supposed to work with the iPhone but I am sure that solution has its own challenges too, the major one being it’s yet one more thing to misplace although it does come with a nice clip to attach the stylus to the phone.

Perhaps it’s just one more thing for my iPhone headphone cords to get wrapped around - one more item giving those iconic cords a chance to de-evolve into yet an even messier rat’s nest than I already create - it’s not unusual for me to spend minutes unraveling my headphone/mic cords before I can use them…..sigh!
